Karma

Karma is a Hindu belief that has engulfed the whole world into the just system of appraisal and/or punishment. Karma- How your future depends on your present actions. Karma - The path to be taken when taking any decision. Good begets good. Evil begets evil. The simplest of systems, you reap what you sow; and yet, it cannot explain everything that happens in life. Why babies are born still, why small kids go through a lot of misfortune early in their lives?

Most of the people do not understand the concept very clearly. Karma is not about what you did in your past which shapes your future; it is about what you do in the present which redeems you of your past and thereby change the future. Therefore, karma is only about the present, neither future nor past. The decisions we take in the present, the course of action we choose, the kind of people we help - all determines our future, it shapes our future lives.

Karma in no ways gives you the freedom or the license to cheat, hurt or harm someone else on the pretext that it was that person’s karma. You cannot be hurtful to others intentionally and get away with it; just because you feel they deserve it. We are only a part of the system, not the system ourselves. We are not here to judge others and to serve justice. We are here only to do our part in the best possible way, keeping in mind that somewhere, someone is keeping a ledger of all our deeds.

"How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours" ~Wayne Dyer

Emotions !!

Ever felt the tingling feeling at the back of your mouth which you just cannot control; that feeling of dread deep inside your guts which is insatiable; that fear of tripping into a deep dark well of infinite depth which is just ineluctable; that continuous beep echoing in your ear which is just unstoppable; that lasting and burning sensation in the corner of the eyes which is just inextinguishable; that rotten taste on the back of your tongue which you just cannot seem to get rid of.

Ever felt so fearful that you can listen to your own heartbeats so loud and clear that you feel like the heart is directly connected to your ears? Ever felt so anxious that every second, a hundred thoughts run through your mind, making you ever more impatient and cranky? Ever felt so pressurised that every single moment spent is like standing on a single leg on a piece of burning hot coal? Ever felt so depressed that you just want to plug out the power supply of the body and go in a state of hibernation for as long as the heart yearns? Ever felt so alone that the whole body feels hollow from within with nothing to fill it with?

When music is the only thing playing at the back of your mind; when a face is the only thing roaming in front of your eyes; when a single name is stuck on the tip of your tongue; when a deep feeling of longing is stabbing your heart. When love is all around you, inside you; when you are immersed in love, overflowing with love!

We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving. ~Friedrich Nietzsche

Rainy Sunday Afternoon

After a long one and a half months of wedding management and the extravaganza of events, a restive Sunday was all that was needed; to reboot the mental system which has been running on overdrive for all these days. And as a reward for all the hard work that was put in, the all merciful God made it rain.

There are very few sights more beautiful, than water pouring on the trees, the streets, the houses, the children, and washing away all the stagnancy and the melancholy from the city, that a long dry winter had to offer. People always look forward to the first summer rain, but it is the first spring rain that adds all colours to this otherwise dull world. The black and white, lackluster winter suddenly wakes up to a motley and vivid spring with greener leaves, brighter houses and chirpier birds. The petrichor fills the air; the moist earth is ready to blossom again; the caterpillars come out of their cocoons, magically spreading their wings and taking flight for the first time.

The whole city is awake from its hibernation and ready to welcome spring with open arms. Amidst the sudden outburst of colours, the cacophony of sounds and the myriad of activities, I lay nestled in my den, watching the rain cleansing the city; watching the birds flapping their wet and ruffled wings; watching the clouds overpowering the mighty sun; watching the kids jumping in the puddles; watching the trees sway to the whims of the winds. And I just lie here enervated, with spring thoughts in my mind, watching the world turn a few more shades romantic.

In the Spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours. ~ Mark Twain

Rail ki patriyan....

Masked Men

We all have a me,
Somewhere within ourselves,
Which tries to tear out,
But we let the feeling itch..
It fights, it bites,
It hurts the living lie,
We give in to it sometimes,
When the head is flying high..

It comes out as a surprise,
It fills the heart with might,
We want to be the same,
But the feeling slowly dies..
The outer mask takes over,
The pretensions come back to life,
We are lost withing ourselves again,
We just lost the fight of I..

Such is the world we live in,
A layer of fine line,
It separates the real from the made up,
It's all a part of the big lie..
The I is a strong part of me,
It rebels and it strives,
For short moments that might be,
But it is still somewhere inside..!!
